Kickstart Scheme

The Government's Kickstart scheme pays employers to create new jobs for young people (ages 16-24). Funding will be conditional on you proving that the jobs are new, and are not replacing jobs held by staff who have recently been made redundant. The jobs created must be at least 25 hours per week and last for a minimum of 6 months. For further information click here.

You can apply for a Kickstart grant direct by visiting the Kickstart website or by contacting us - we are an approved Kickstart Scheme Gateway.

Apprenticeships and you

More employers are benefitting from hiring apprentices and upskilling their existing staff. 75% of employers said taking on an apprentice has helped their business to improve the quality of their product and service.

Find out about the different levels and types of apprenticeship you could offer to new and existing staff. Watch our video on how to recruit an apprentice to your organisation.

The Apprenticeship Levy explained

If you have a payroll of more than £3 million, you will need to pay the Apprenticeship Levy. This is 0.5% of your payroll. You can use these funds to pay for all apprenticeship training costs. Find out more about the levy here.

If you do not have a payroll over £3 million, you will not pay the Apprenticeship Levy. Instead you will have to contribute 5% towards the cost of any apprenticeship training within your organisation. To avoid this you can apply for a levy transfer using Levy Match Leeds - find out more below.

Other financial incentives available when taking on an apprentice, please contact us to find out more.

Levy Match Leeds

Receive levy funds from other employers. Many organisations we work with do not use all their levy funding. If you are a small-medium employer we can match you with an organisation that can transfer part of their levy funds to you.
